She is definitely a little crazy. At night she dreams of cork products and during the day the others have to pay the price. For her, cork is not a natural material, but a way of life (almost a religion, I'm afraid). There are no limits to her screwed-up imagination and her ecstasy seems to be downright contagious. Clarissa is a bit of a workaholic, because when asked what she does in her free time, you only get raised eyebrows in response. If there is still a bit of breathing space left, she naturally spends her time with the children. And once the sun has disappeared behind the mountains, she can be found at the occasional party, because she doesn't just sit at the Mac-Book.
Edwin is our master of product madness. He coordinates when what is produced so that it can be shipped together at the end. He is the cork whisperer and knows which addition needs to be made for which carpet length so that the dimensions are correct in the end. He has an eye on how, where, when and what needs to be glued and how long it is best to leave the part alone. He keeps the wild chickens in the factory in check and doesn't hold back with the odd bold remark. And very important: he has nerves of steel (there are reasons why Edwin took over the production and not Clarissa:-) He hardly has any free time, but when he does, he throws himself at the children or the Krumbach music club is waiting for the thoroughbred musician.
Also known as the hero of the code. Essentially, his job is to make the impossible possible. Not easy at all, because there are many wishes to be fulfilled: from optimization processes to the big wishes of small product developers and marketing princesses. Well, and then good Markus also has many ingenious ideas of his own to make your life in the Clarissakork-world easier. The list is almost inexhaustible. No end in sight. When he wants to recover from our wishes, he can be found playing the drums in various bands.
"If you use the codes to create the correct routes through the Twig template and then read the Git in the master branch with a static ping, the linked checkout will work." Do you understand? Sure, it doesn't make sense to the initiated, but it sounds just as hieroglyphic to us when Flo and Markus talk to each other. The business IT specialist takes care of uh important technical web things, but that's not all we don't understand. He belongs to our language group - among other things, he is fluent in Portuguese, possibly because he is married to a lovely Brazilian woman. And when the former professional gymnast isn't doing handstands, there's one thing we can all talk about: Cooking. Or rather: food! The other day he served us yummy hemp pasta all'amatriciana!
Elena strengthens our faction of “Ländler,” as we lovingly call all non-Wälder. Always surrounded by an air of coolness, she runs our shop in Hittisau with poise, friendliness, and helpfulness. As if that weren’t enough, the stylish Dornbirn native – with a fashionable penchant for color explosions (haha, note the irony) – also manages 1,000 other tasks. At least! This travel bee, who loves exploring the world and generally keeps moving, is versatile, sharp-witted, and full of ideas. Plus, you can laugh your heart out with her and have an absolute blast.
Karin is our secret weapon at the new Innsbruck shop – full of energy, charm, and an uncanny radar for great conversations. Whether she’s arranging displays or in the middle of a consultation, she shares our cork mission with genuine passion. As an experienced sales manager with a cosmopolitan background (New York, Sweden, and years spent in airplane cabins), she has perfected the art of style, service, and real human connection. With her open nature, a head full of ideas, and her heart in the right place, she’s the kind of person you can plan entire interiors with – or go on wild adventures. The sporty Tyrolean, known for her almost legendary sense of order – rumor has it she carries the “Monk gene” – always keeps things perfectly under control. Those who’ve met her know: sales can be taught, but someone like Karin – you either have her, or you don’t.
Daniela fits in with us like cork in our factory: natural, versatile, full of character and with that certain something extra. When she talks about cork, her eyes shine like freshly oiled cork leather. In the shop in Hittisau, she advises our customers with patience, warmth and humour – she even manages to put a smile on the face of a stressed parcel delivery driver with her charming manner. Her love of cork and natural materials in general continues in her private life. The passionate farmer with a creative mind and craftsmanship has filled her fabulously beautiful holiday chalets with all kinds of ideas: from her own design beanbags to fine sauna cushions, her loving touch can be seen in every detail.
Also known as Idea Beth ... Yes, Elisabeth has lots and lots of great ideas - for products or for the online store. She also comes up with nice surprises for customers. She always keeps the team on their toes and ensures that we don't get bored the day after tomorrow. A real marketing junkie. A lesson learned is a lesson learned. That's why she also supports Clarissa when it comes to Soschäl Media... In other words - she looks after our influencer sheep, negotiates hard, checks out the best deals and keeps a watchful eye on which influencer is the best horse in the stable. If you have so many ideas, you need to do some soul-searching, which is why you'll often find our Idea Beth on our yoga mat.
Her world is also completely corked, but it also consists of lots of letters and commas. When Sandra hits the keys, it generally ends in a text frenzy, unless her coffee level is not yet up to par, then it becomes critical. She arrives from distant Bregenz in her coral-colored rocket and we secretly wonder whether she has matched her bright hair color to the car or vice versa. She keeps trying to lure us into the city to let us in on the secrets of the art world, as she regularly organizes exhibitions in a gallery that is her second living room.
Sara is our number wizard – a proud Bregenzerwald native who has bravely emigrated all the way to exotic Dornbirn (a whopping 25 kilometers away). At Clarissakork, she juggles numbers and HR matters with such precision that even the calculator gives a standing ovation. Formerly with a tax advisor, she brings a lovingly meticulous streak that regularly makes us sweat: will our files survive the “Sara check”? And off the clock? That’s when Sara really dances through life – preferably with music in her ears, a wooden spoon in hand, or a bloody thriller on her bookshelf. Romance? No thanks, says Sara – the darker, the better! With her cheerful, positive spirit, seemingly endless patience and a pinch of dry humor, she’s our calm anchor in the daily storm – and still always sharp as a tack.
Anna is not easily rattled. Whether our cutter Fritz is on strike, the orders are piling up or Clarissa wants another new prototype - Anna remains calm and doesn't make anyone nervous. And anyone who thinks you can't do a trade with long, painted fingernails is welcome to ask her for tips. If you want to see the beautiful Anna outside our manufactory, you have to go searching. At the weekend, she likes to cross the border or can be found cuddling with her dog in the beautiful countryside.
We secretly keep a list of errors here. Doris' note usually remains blank. It's also called The Brain here. It ensures that you receive your products beautifully packaged in the right color and quantity. Sounds simple, but it's not. But that's not Doris' only talent - she retains her dry and charming sense of humor even at chaotic peak times. When you look at her face, you can't help but smile broadly. In her private life, Doris prefers a hike up the Hochäderich with a stop at her parents' Alpe Hochwies.
Herlinde is someone very special: she is our first employee! Our hard-working pearl likes to provide Clarissa with chocolates when she feels she needs them, and she also takes care of everyone and everything else. Herlinde is the master of oversized and round rugs. The Mellau native is reluctant to leave her large sewing machine, as it is her absolute favorite place in the manufactory. In her private life, however, Herlinde is not tied to one place: In her free time, she gondolas around somewhere between Mittagspitze, Munich, Vienna and Crete.
We are certain - coffee flows through his veins! So it's no wonder that Sebastian is always on his toes. We secretly call him "Blitzgneisser". He lived in Vienna for a long time and lived out his artistic streak in a gallery. Now he's practically our wish fulfiller. Sebastian is the man of the hour as a print master. He's an absolutely committed guy, because Sebastian is also responsible for laminating - that's where the various components that we need for almost all products are combined (haha, great pun). Fortunately, his humor is much more entertaining, even if it is as dry as the Gobi Desert.
Good is not good enough. Maria not only sews beautifully, she sews perfectly. Without ifs and buts. She loves working with our natural material cork and is delighted every time we add a new product to our range. Only last Christmas, when the flood of orders for the ANNA shopper was never-ending, was she happy to be able to sew tried and tested placemats again. Maria is friendliness personified and even on really stressful days she keeps her smile until late in the evening. Nature is her absolute favorite energy tank.
When Christa checks our manufactory, we hold our breath, because our dear colleague has to abbreviate everything correctly and sort the cork by color alphabetically. Anything else is unacceptable. She prefers to work with Edwin at the gluing machine, but is just as good at sewing and, thanks to her perfectionism, is also Markus' first choice when it comes to adding something to the online store. And woe betide her if she finds a product there that was not photographed exactly as it is currently manufactured. Then there's trouble for Clarissa. Having a Monk in the team is sometimes challenging, but at the end of the day it's a great gift, because someone has to keep an eye on things. And despite her stern eye, Christa is always up for a bit of fun and is a really loyal soul. Her love of detail is also evident in her private life, as she loves making elaborate cards.
At first glance, you would think that Elena is very shy and quiet. Okay, she may not be a ramp sow, but you can't fool yourself either. Once you've lured her out of her shell, she chats away happily and laughs so heartily that the sun rises. She moved from Moscow to Mellau years ago - how lucky for us, because she completed a fashion apprenticeship in her home country and gained experience in the design sector. She is one of our passionate sewers and actually enjoys sitting at the machine in her free time - unless she is plowing through nature with her camera and looking for exciting motifs.
Her name is actually spelled differently, but after it was messed up at school to SCHIIILA, she changed the spelling without further ado. When it's not about her name, the down-to-earth clothing technician loves variety - which is why she prefers to sew exactly what is needed at the time in the manufactory. She is always ready to help and never lets anything spoil her good mood. Whenever possible, she roams through nature and collects edible things, which she then turns into pesto and juice or flavors salt at home.
Raphael shares control of the ‘Fritz’ cutter with Anna, but also works on the laminating machine with his typical calmness and precision. While others are sizzling toast during their lunch break, Raphael remains steadfast – he skips lunch, but not conversation. He brings a relaxed calm to the team, sharing exciting anecdotes: very, very rarely – almost never – from his previous career at a well-known DIY store. Raphael is part of the Bregenzerwald team, but he likes to see the world. When he's not petting tigers in Thailand or exploring the underwater world somewhere, he's chugging around Lake Constance with his son in his Gundel (for the uninitiated: that's a small boat). Always friendly, always relaxed – with Raphael, it's never boring.
Franzi is our attentive elf, who always flits through the manufactory when none of us are there yet or when we are all popping the corks after work. But when she's done with her work, it's so perfectly neat and spotless that even Marie Kondo looks pale. Our cleaning pearl came to us in the Bregenzerwald from near Stuttgart via the Allgäu - that's why you sometimes see a lot of question marks pop up in her head when one of us starts ranting in dialect. To relax, nature-loving Franzi tends to her garden or takes her beloved foster pony Sonja by the reins and takes her and her family for a walk or to the mountains.
Uff, where do I start, where do I end? Birgit is our 1000-Sassa and therefore has many agendas on her screen. She manages our store in Hittisau, advises customers on the carpet selection on site, is the friendly voice on the phone and is also happy to help you by e-mail. She keeps suppliers in check and orders everything the manufactory wants. She also helps Clarissa with the online store, prepares print and embroidery files and so on and so forth... Yes, and because that's not enough of a challenge for the youngster, she also helps out in the factory with her specialist knowledge. She is the master of disaster, so to speak. No wonder she likes to run up mountains or get on her bike at the weekend.
